¡Saludos a todos!

Las vacaciones de diciembre nos han servido para descansar pero también para obtener mucha información que queremos compartirles. Por ahora yo les comentaré que estuve en México y en Estados Unidos, y ha sido muy interesante ir con ojos de exploradora encontrando qué hacen estos países (o al menos las localidades que pude visitar) respecto al manejo de desechos sólidos y las políticas de cuidado ambiental.

En términos generales

De México, puedo decir que aunque las políticas públicas todavía no están tan estructuradas y la gente en general no tiene mucha información de cómo separar, dónde reciclar, qué ventajas tiene, etc. existen excelente iniciativas de proyectos de reciclaje, la creatividad encuentra un cauce perfecto cuando las personas conscientes comprenden la importancia de cuidar lo que se tira a la basura. Tendré el placer de compartirles varios proyectos de reciclaje creativo de mexicanos bastante originales, aunque también estaré exponiendo deficiencias del sistema público con el único objetivo de propiciar la reflexión y la acción positiva.

En Estados Unidos me parece que hay más estructura pública, sin embargo el american way of life hace que la gente en verdad consuma y deseche cantidades industriales de bienes y servicios todos los días, con sus respectivas cantidades de basura; así que me parece importante que concienticemos a la población que no solamente se hace un bien separando adecuadamente los desechos, sino produciendo menos de ser posible. Encuentro que hace falta la reflexión cotidiana de cómo contaminar menos eligiendo materiales u opciones procedimentales, por ejemplo, ¿Es mejor lavar un traste o usar un desechable? ¿Es mejor lavar trastes a mano o a máquina? ¿Es necesario usar una bolsa de plástico? ¿Cuántas veces bajarle a la taza del baño? ¿Podemos usar menos electricidad? Ya pronto con ejemplos más claros iremos desarrollando estos temas para reflexión. Por otro lado, existen propuestas sustentables de vivienda (por aquí compartiré uno) pero que justamente será bueno cuestionar si no hacen falta algunos pasos previos en materia de educación, pues su aplicación dista mucho de ser factible debido al entorno cultural consumista.

Por ahora, lo único que puedo decir para retomar la publicación de nuestro blog, es que agradecemos que nos sigan, sus comentarios nos nutren mucho y nos ayudan a mejorar nuestros contenidos. Estos viajes personalmente me han servido para evaluar de mejor manera las cosas que nos sirven para reflexionar y compartir.

Hello again, everyone!

The winter holidays have been good for resting but also excellent to retrieve a lot of information that we'd love to share with you. For now I'll say that I've been to Mexico and the US, and it has been really interesting to go now with exploring eyes finding what these countries do (or at least the communities I've been to) regarding the dispose of solid waste, as well as public policies for environmental care.

In a general way

From Mexico, I can say that public policies are not yet very developed and structured, people in general doesn't have information about how to separate, where to recycle what advantages it has to do it so, etc. BUT despite this, there are a lot of excellent recycling and environmental initiatives, creativity finds a great way of expressing when it comes to persons involved in environmental themes with enough information. These persons for sure understand the importance of taking care of what we dispose. I'll have the pleasure of sharing these projects, coming from creative and caring mexicans. But yet again, I'll also give some exposure at the failure of the public policies, in order to give them a thought and propose solutions.

In the US, I think policies are better, however, the american way of life is too rooted, people does consume industrial quantities of goods and services everyday, with their respective amount of waste. So I find truly important to make people think about the improvements they can make producing actually less waste and not only separating and recycling it. I find that there is a need to reflect in everyday actions, how to pollute less by choosing the right materials or the right actions: Is it better to use a disposable plate or to wash the dishes? Is it better to wash the dishes by hand or with the machine? Is it really necessary to flush the toilet every time we use it? Can we save electricity? And so on. On the other hand, there are some environmental projects, I'll share here one of a sustainable living unit, but then again, it will be good to question if maybe there are missing some previous steps, specially in education, because its application can't be possible without re-thinking the consumer lifestyle.

By now, I can only say, to go back to publish here in our blog, that we thank a lot that you keep a track on us, that you leave your comments that help us to improve the contents. These trips personally have helped me a lot to evaluate in a better way what has to be shared with this community.
